Maycott Sofa – Collaborative Production Model (Next)

The Maycott sofa was produced as a fast-paced collaboration between myself and another artist to meet tight production deadlines. I was responsible for building the base structure and core form of the sofa, ensuring accurate proportions, clean topology, and a strong foundation suitable for both high-quality rendering and production efficiency. The cushions were created by my colleague, with close communication between us to ensure seamless integration and consistent styling across the model.

The base model was carefully constructed to balance visual softness with structural clarity, maintaining the chunky, contemporary silhouette while keeping the mesh optimised for pipeline use. Particular attention was paid to edge flow, curvature of the arms, and the transition between base, seat, and back to ensure the final asset read as both comfortable and well-engineered.

This project highlights my ability to:
-Work collaboratively under time pressure
-Build clean, production-ready topology
-Interpret brand styling and translate it into accurate 3D form
-Integrate smoothly with other artists’ work to deliver a cohesive final asset
-The final result is a production-ready sofa model that meets Next’s internal standards for quality, performance, and visual realism, while demonstrating effective teamwork and efficient asset delivery.
