This project focuses on the creation of The Stevie, a fully modelled sofa developed in Maya, with an emphasis on soft form, structure, and realistic cushioning.
The model was built from scratch, with careful attention to proportions and edge flow to achieve the characteristic segmented, padded design. Subtle imperfections and form variation were introduced to avoid a rigid look and help sell the weight and softness of the piece.
Alongside the model, I also created the fabric material, developing a shader that captures the softness and light response of upholstered furniture. The goal was to achieve a rich, tactile surface that reacts naturally under different lighting conditions.
The asset was rendered in Arnold, focusing on clean lighting and material readability, and includes multiple size variations derived from the original approved model to reflect a production-ready workflow.
Wireframes and additional views are included to showcase topology and construction.
