The inspiration for the style of my animation and the poster that would follow
The early designs for Baba Yaga and Izbushka, I haven't seen this Sketchbook for many years which makes me think that uni may have forgotten to hand it back.
The spell to summon Baba Yaga, at least one I found on the internet. Initially was going to incorporate it in to my animation but ended up not doing so in the end.
This animation is a hand-drawn keyframe journey inspired by the mythical tale of Baba Yaga. I created each frame in what was once Flash, now Adobe Animate, and then took them into Photoshop where I meticulously painted each keyframe in my own unique style. After that, I brought the animation into After Effects, where I added a touch of puppeteering magic and vintage film effects to bring the whole piece to life. I hope you enjoy the final result as much as I enjoyed crafting it!
