Glazed Ceram Lamp Base – 3D Model

The Glazed Ceram lamp base was recreated in Autodesk Maya as a stylised ceramic form, capturing the soft, rounded silhouette and distinctive speckled glaze of the original design. This asset was developed collaboratively, with the characteristic pip-like surface detailing modelled by another artist due to production time constraints and parallel lamp workloads.
The base features a broad, organically curved profile with gentle tapering toward the top collar, designed to convey the weight and volume of a substantial ceramic vessel. Care was taken to preserve smooth surface flow and proportional balance, ensuring the form reads as both decorative and structurally grounded.
A custom Arnold shader was created to replicate the glazed ceramic finish, combining subtle gloss response with a fine, irregular speckle pattern to emulate fired ceramic texture. The material was tuned to react naturally under soft lighting, highlighting surface curvature and enhancing the tactile quality of the glaze.
