Elliot Lamp Base – 3D Model

Maya | Arnold | Custom Shader

The Elliot lamp base was digitally recreated in Autodesk Maya, using a real-world product photograph as reference. The model captures the clean, rhythmic geometry of the turned ceramic form, translating its distinctive stacked profile into a refined, production-ready 3D asset.

The base was constructed using a lathe-driven modelling workflow, carefully shaping each repeating contour to preserve the character of the original design. Attention was paid to maintaining consistent spacing, smooth curvature, and silhouette accuracy, ensuring the elegant vertical flow remains visually balanced and true to scale.

A custom Arnold shader was developed to simulate a glazed ceramic finish, with controlled specular response and subtle roughness variation to reflect the soft sheen of fired pottery. In addition to the primary white finish, colour variants were produced in red, sage, and blue, allowing the asset to support a broader range of interior styling scenarios and product visualisation needs.

Key Focus:
-Real-world recreation from photographic reference
-Precision silhouette and profile consistency
-Clean subdivision modelling in Maya
-Custom ceramic shader development
-Multiple colour variants for product versatility
