Filton Lamp Base – 3D Model

The Filton lamp base was digitally recreated in Autodesk Maya, using a real-world product photograph as reference. The model captures the distinctive twin-sphere ceramic form of the original design, translating its bold, rounded silhouette into a smooth, production-ready 3D asset with strong visual presence.
The base was modelled with a lathe-driven workflow, carefully refining curvature and proportion to preserve the soft transitions between the upper and lower volumes. Particular attention was paid to maintaining consistent surface flow and subtle edge softness, ensuring the piece retains the character and weight of a real glazed ceramic object.
A custom Arnold shader was developed to replicate the glossy ceramic finish, with controlled specular highlights and gentle roughness variation to produce realistic light interaction and surface depth. The model was created in the sage finish shown, with additional colour variants produced in white and red, allowing for flexible use across different interior styling contexts.
